Caleope Meraki is a Washington D.C.-based writer, photographer, and content creator.
Caleope writes poetry and is currently working on the first draft of a yet unnamed high fantasy novel. A list of her publications is available here. She is a member of the Sancho Panza Literary Society where she serves as the editor of the newsletter and was a member of the 2024 winter cohort for the Sophisticants Literary Residency at Trinity College Dublin.
Caleope is also an abstract film photographer, in addition to being well-versed in digital photography and portraiture, event, and conceptual photography. Her work has won several Scholastic art awards. A gallery for this site is currently under construction.
Lastly, Cal is amateur content creator and runs an online gaming community for young adults. She primarily streams video games on Twitch and runs The Cal SMP, a publicly joinable survival Minecraft server, with over 650 unique members during its lifetime. Her community is known as "The Calipolis," in homage to Plato's Kallipolis. You can also find her posting Tiktoks, the occassional vlog on YouTube, and other casual content around the Internet, though this is not a primary focus of hers at the moment. Her combined viewership exceeds 3,000.
Caleope holds a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University and is currently employed full-time in her field. When she's not working on her art, she can be found at the gym, caring for her menagerie of plants that's increasingly taking over her apartment, or being an insufferable Beatnik.
